67 Sep 20 Comment Thanks everyone for the comments. Always helpful. This month's take-away - a good image that needs a little more work on the highlights and shadows. Sep 28th
67 Sep 20 Reply Also called Deciduous Holly. Scientific name is Ilex decidua. A great wildlife shrub. Sep 18th
67 Sep 20 Comment That is such a beautiful image! In a natural appearing setting I would have reduced the contrast a bit, but with that black background the contrast really works. This is one to print and frame. Sep 18th

67 Sep 20 Comment This one tells a story of a bird defending its food against another bird. Good tension. You could lighten the exposure and shadows on the lower bird in LR using the adjustment brush and maybe bring down the highlights a bit on the upper bird. BTW that's a possumhaw bush. The berries will turn bright red when mature and provide food for other birds. Good image! Sep 18th
67 Sep 20 Comment It's amazing to me how a few gentle touches can greatly improve an image. Thanks for taking the time to share this. Sep 5th
67 Sep 20 Comment You got the eye in pretty good focus and that's the main thing. I think you could have stopped down a little to get increased overall sharpness. Also, the image looks a little too warm, but that's just my preference. You didn't say how you processed, but in Lightroom I would try moving the color temp slider towards blue just a little. I would also go to "Details", hold the "alt" key and set the mask until all the "snow" is gone and increase sharpness to 120. In Photoshop I'd still be reading the instructions. Sep 4th
67 Sep 20 Comment Did you say "little fellow"? Looks pretty big to me! Good sharp eye focus and you really picked up the reddish highlights on the face and velvet on the rack. Nice work! I would consider cropping a little off the top of the image. The moose looks too far down in the frame to me. Sep 4th
67 Sep 20 Comment A remarkable image. I love it. The only thing that struck my eye is the foreground that includes the chicks looks a little too bright and sharp. Regardless, a wonderful photo. Sep 4th
