This is a good image and almost great. I would try a closer crop and attempt to sharpen the image. In Lightroom I would use the sharpening mask in "Details". |

Richard, what a great image. It brought an immediate emotional response the first time I saw it. Perfect lighting, rich detail, great pose, wonderful framing. Love it, love it, love it! |

I'll "second" everything said, and am eagerly waiting for next month. Thank you for doing the right thing! |

Beautiful colors in this image. Good focus. Catchlight in the bird's eye. I might have tried cropping a little closer, especially at the bottom where there aren't any flowers. Also, darkening the background a bit and brighten the bird (adjustment brush in LR) and adding a very slight vignette. |

Thanks for the comments. I like Richard's crop but personally don't like to include bird feeders, and including half a bird doesn't seem quite right to me. I like the closer crop and that was my original "take" on the image. For some reason I opened it up. Can't remember why - getting old and senile I guess. The first time I saw the image I was going to get rid of it, then I noticed the bird's expression. I chuckled and said to myself, "I've had days like that!". |

A very nice shot! I agree with the comments about allowing more room in front of the swan, but understand you couldn't do that. The bright areas in the background are distracting - you could remove them or darken them using LR or PS. Also, the entire vegetation on the bank could be darkened a little. |
