Yes, it seems to me that the background is distracting mainly because of its bright color. I went back and de-saturated a bit and made it a little darker. I think I will need to use Photoshop to do it right. Also brightened up the spider to make it a tad more visible. But to me the idea is for the viewer to notice the dragonfly first, then see the spider and figure out the drama of nature. Then they will say "Holy cow! That's a great photo!" |

Oh Cheryl, that is just beautiful. But I would make up a story about stalking this butterfly for hours through the wild jungle. The orange and purple colors are great. Some might say there's a little too much vibrance, but it's an orange butterfly for goodness sake. Good job of processing the highlights and shadows to minimize their negatives. Cropped a little too much? Maybe pull it out some to give the subject a little more breathing room. |

That smooth flowing water is great. I wish the rock in the foreground and the trees in the background were sharper. I wonder if a little more cloud definition would look good, if it's possible. Maybe add some contrast and saturation to make them a little more interesting. I would play around with that in Lightroom, or whatever you use. Thanks for posting this one. |

Nice portrait of the warbler and the composition makes me wonder "is there a nest in that stump?" Well-cropped. Maybe you could darken those bright spots a little more and bring up the shadows a wee bit, and brighten the bird. |

I like the processing on this one to bring out the "rosy". Nice composition balance with grass in foreground, reflections, trees and sky. Moody is the word and the dark exposure and subtle colors does the job! I like!! |

Really nice poses from both the adult and that cute little chick. A nice setting with mother and little one in the nest that immediately draws my interest. Personally I like having the tangle of sticks in the background because it gives context to the main subject. However, it might be good to darken them some to minimize distraction. Really nice photo! |
