I really like the discussion on this image, especially around cropping. Gives me something to think about. Thanks everyone! |

It is featured in cameras that have in-camera shake compensation. Nikon puts it in their lenses. |

Thanks for the kind comments. I need to be careful not to take the Ansel Adams thing too far. I can imagine someone saying to me, "I knew Ansel Adams. Ansel Adams was a friend of mine. Mike, you're no Ansel Adams." Similar to what Lloyd Bensen said to Dan Quayle regarding John Kennedy in a 1988 vice presidential debate. |

Very nice poses, and the wooden log is very artsy and interesting. I agree about the background and think you can improve it in Lightroom or Photoshop (or whatever) by selectively decreasing the exposure and sharpness a little. Some folks frown on them, but I would apply a little dark vignette to further isolate your subject. Nice shot from a very interesting location! |

I think you are my kinda photographer - takes a trip to Aruba and ends up photographing lizards ;). Excellent photo - composition and colors all great. I would like to see the lizard's eye and head a little sharper and it looks as if there is some noise showing up from the heavy crop. However, you made a wonderful image from an original that is challenging. |

A beautiful photo showing action - feeding chicks. Look at those fuzzy little heads! You might want to try the adjustment brush (or equivalent if you don't use lightroom) to turn down the highlights on those fuzzy heads. Also, you might try backing off the cropping to show more of the beautiful Spanish moss I see in the original. I'm with you on the "twigs and stuff" that might intrude into a natural setting image. In fact, being a forester and native plant enthusiast, I find it interesting. I'm wondering if the branch on the left is a Bald Cypress or Pond Cypress. Of course, there can be too much intrusive stuff, but not in this photo, IMO. Thanks for sharing a good photo! |

How wonderful to have a flock of wild turkeys in your yard! Not many people can claim that. The feather detail and color are excellent, in my opinion, and the sharp focus on the spread wings draws my attention. Also the action of the bird taking flight. Looks as if you might could have given the birds a little more space in the cropping. Nice job! |

I am so sorry that I cannot find anything to suggest to improve this wonderful photo. The light, the "smoke" on the mountains, the improvised lighting on the grass, just the overall mood. This is one to put on the wall, use as a screen saver, just sit and look at it when you need to calm yourself down. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find a way to improve it. |
