Wow, what a great experience. These guys need all the help they can get. I work with the DNR here in SC from time to time and that relationship between photographers and them often benefits both parties. I hope you got through the storms OK. So many folks are really hurting now. |

Wonderful colors in the sky Dave. I will agree with Larry. There needs to be an anchor for all that beauty to make it stand out from the thousands of beautiful sky shots out there. Being on a boat sure hampers your options. You could try lighting up the trees in the foreground and see if that would add some interest to the photo. There are several layers of foreground to work with. Adding light and dark tones to the layers would highlight that area. I like the panorama crop. I may have even cropped a little more. |

This is a different photo of bears for sure. I agree, the image seems washed out. Some contrast between the Bears and the rock would really heighten the bears in the scene. This photo is so unusual that it deserves some time spent to make it stand out. The bear on the right seems to be in motion but blends in with the rock and loses that feeling of action. This is a great photo, Bud. I hope you spend some more editing time and see what happens. |

The ears have it. This does remind me of the Long-eared Jack Rabits out west. What we have most here in the Low Country of South Carolina are the very uninteresting Swamp Bunnies. My eyes go straight to those ears. With the sun behind the rabbit the ears become translucent. Love the detail in the ears and that little bit of rim light makes the pop even more. Great Bokeh too. Really nice capture this month. |

Very cool Susan. I am jealous. I was in Gainsville Fl. last year trying to find a Snail Kite to Photograph and all I found was empty snail shells. I like your photo. The wing position is prefect. and it is sharp enough. I too am glad you told us what was in the bird's talons. The white on the tail could have been brighter but I suspect that was the true tone considering the environment these guys feed in. Muddy stream banks and such. |
