Thanks, David, for the comment. I have agreed with Michaels Crop being more realistic. If I was doing a program about the Owl pellet that is the crop I would use. If I were doing a program about my adventure in making the image, I would use the tilted crop. That's the cool thing about story telling with pictures. |

Thanks Cindy. I agree with you about Michael's crop. But I keep thinking that my crazy angle adds a little extra to the story. It certainly is not perfect but that is my story, and I am sticking with it. Thanks for you nice complements.. |

I like your crop Michael, makes appear that I was actually standing upright. While I do think it is a more realistic crop, the lean will always distinguish this image form the others and I like that too. Thanks for the comment. |

Thanks for your comments, Susan. My gymnastic abilities I think are questionable. Lucky, I didn't end up down in the muck of the swamp. |

David this is a very moody scene with the stormy clouds. I do think the conversion to Black and White was the right move. I probably would have cropped some of the sky down to just above the peak of the mountain. I agree there needs to be some detail added the mountains. You might also try working with the dehaze feature in LR on the mountains but not too much that you change the wonderful moody feeling. I do like this photo a lot. |

I have seen one Snail Kite in Florida but could not get a picture. I pulled into the drive at Viera Wetlands and there it was. Perched on top of the lookout tower for about 2 or 3 seconds. Someday maybe I will find another one. You guys have covered about everything on this image that I would have said. I too thought the Kite looked like it had been added to the image of a sky but from your past comments I pretty much knew that was not the case. Thanks for all the information provide from everyone. |

Really nice Cindy. The image is sharp, the composition is spot on, and the story is very good. No explanation needed; the image tells the story very well. I like the details of the environment like the pollen on the Woodpecker's beak and the bees. Good work. |

I like the story this image tells, that's where the strength of this photo is. You have the Cygnets all facing the camera and mom facing her children, that is a really good capture. I wish the Swan had some detail, but it is missing because of the overexposure, and you just can't get any detail. I have no knowledge of the Sony cameras, but I feel that all cameras today have ways to compensate for the dynamic problem we all are faced with at times. That is an issue as nature or wildlife photographs, we need to conquer. If we were in the studio with controlled lighting, no problem. But we will take the problems and learn from them because we like the uncontrolled fact of nature. It's wonderful capture Susan. Keek shooting. |

Michael I am conflicted about what I should be looking at. The nice sky, the bird, the cactus or the rock formations. I kind of agree with Larry on this one. A lot of competition
for my attention going on in one image. |
