Thanks Bud. Larry is usually spot on with his comments. Details are very important to us bird-nerds for sure. Some birds like Cedar Waxwings are so sleek there is very little detail in the feathers, so I hate them. Haha not really.

Thanks Michael, but you are a little late with the book title. The chicks were just dark enough to keep the separated from the smother shades of the sand. At first, I thought that the color of the sand would be a problem but when I cropped in on the chicks it was not so bad. |

Thanks Frank. I could have removed the sticks. It would have made for a cleaner image for sure.

Thanks Larry. I have never thought of the foreground being a little blurred being as an issue, but I can see what you mean. I will be more aware of this from now on. I am wondering if that would apply to an image taken on the same plane as the subject. I was looking down on these chicks and should have been down to their level but not having the body of a 25-year-old that can be a problem for me.

Thanks Angela. It's a habit I have gotten into flipping an image when it is looking away from me. I read left to right and that is the way I like to look at an image. Not always but most of the times it looks better. I never thought about the chick setting be well feed. That very interesting, Thanks

Great image on a subject we often pass up. I suppose because we have so many. This guy is different, and the lighting is wonderful. Most of the gators I see here are covered in Duck Weed in the summer. The rainstorm was you friend on this shot. Adds drama and certainly helps tell the story. Anothe good one.

Jason he is a big boy. reminds me of some of the big guys I see at Alligator River east Nags Head in NC. I really like the angle you shot this from. I also know how hard it is to get good detail on Black Bears. I think you have done a great job. Just and outstanding image.

Frank, I agree I enjoy seeing something a little different from all the rest. Plenty of action without the Riverbank. You can certainly tell they are in the water from all the splashing of muddy water. I really like this image. |
