Thanks Cindy. Boy it's hard not to like this little guy with all the colors. They are always the highlight of spring when they arrive. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks David. Unfortunate that you did not get to see him. They are a show stopper for sure. I used to visit up there a lot and loved photographing in the little town of Leesburg. Thanks for the comments.

David I would go with the animal tracks. Much more story there than with all the Ice. I like the simplistic nature of the photo. I would crop to make sure that the tracks stand out as the main subject. And now for the answer to what is it making those tracks. It's 2 small animals. One following the other across the save path over the ice until they separate and go their own way. My guess it is something like a fox or a bobcat. |

I always love shooting these beautiful birds. They are so active you can almost always catch them doing something exciting. This is a great shot of the young one exercising it's wings. Getting ready for the big day. Very nice image Bud. I would have liked to have seen all of it's brother or sister as well. Take what you can get.

Thanks Bud for the comments. We are very fortunate to have these beauties show up in the spring and spend the summer with us. |

You are messing with my brain with that original image. I always stop and look at the images before I read the post just to gather my own thoughts about the images. I was having real reservations about this whole thing. Surely he must have posted the wrong image. After I got everything straight I will say it's a great action shot. Enough action to tell the story and tell me something about his environment. The little foot kick is a wonderful gesture and the gritty, sandy little toad adds realism to the scene. |

Jason, how close were you to these Goats? The first goat seems to be where you focus was and he is nice and sharp. The other guys not so much. I have only seen these animals once in the wild and they just white specks on a mountain side a long way off. He does look a little surprised to see you so I am guessing that shooting time was not on you side before they left the area. This is a keeper for me. I may have cropped in a little tighter. I don't care what is behind the goats and maybe a little from the left of the image. Still looks like a fun shoot. |

Cindy I agree with Bud on a couple of things. The first being you are way ahead of me on Astro Photography. I do think you need an acceptable foreground but the large green pines do seem to distract from the MW. I shoot the MW in an area here in South Carolina like that with the big pines but without all the flood lights you had to contend with so the trees show show up only as a silhouette. I like what you have done but if you could just kill those flood lights for a second or two,
"winner". |

Great find "Otters" I always see their butts as they slide into the water. I think you done well considering what you were able to capture. Getting close to these guys is a challenge. I am not sure what you could have done in post to improve on the image. I most likely would have done the same thing as you have done. I can see the Otters, I can see some eyes and they are sharp. I would be tickled pink with this shot.
