Thanks Cindy. I do love shooting photos of these guys when I get the chance which is not often. When you only get a week or two a year you just shoot everything that you see and then sort out the good ones when you get home.

Michael I thought I had posted a response to your photo a few days ago but I don't see it. The same thing happened when I answered Larry's comment on my picture. Here goes again. I love the out of the box idea on this image, I would have never thought of doing this. I don't know the rules of nature verses fine art but the rules of hanging it on the wall are, we have to like it. I like this. It is so different and interesting that it requires your attention. Your post processing is really good. I really like the leading line of a few fish from the lower left to right bringing you into the large group of catfish. Wonderful image. |

Great image David. I think you have done a good job with the coloring of the sky. I really like the foreground for a couple of reasons. It looks like it belongs or maybe natural is the word I am looking for. It doesn't look out of place. I have a photographer friend in Atlanta that told me that if you can, with landscape photography give your viewer a place to stand or set in the image and they will feel more like a part of the image and enjoy it more. I don't know if that is totally true or not. I find myself liking images like yours because you have a place for me. I can see me standing just to the left of center behind that bush taking in the sunset. Thanks

Wonderful image of this little guy Larry. Besides having good equipment and knowhow the thing I take away from this is the time and preparation you spent to get the image you wanted. How many of us take 11 trips to see the same bird? I wonder what was the actual time in hours you spent with Boris. A lesson I have been working on for some time. Some times I can make it work but other times my patience is not good enough and I left and never knew, did the animal make the move just as I turned to leave or did he sit there for another hour. Thanks |

This looks like one of those little jumping spiders. Really small. Really cute looking little guy but is being overpowered by the flower. He is just not big enough to compete with that big purple flower. I see 2 good images by themselves but to gather they just don't get along. Great idea. like the composition and a wonderful find just seeing that little guy.
