Thanks David. I tried cropping to get the eyes but it just did not work. I really worked a lot to make it work because I love the idea but it's a no go. I now have a good reason to explain to my wife why I need one of those high pixel cameras. I could have gone with a lower ISO but I felt I needed the high shutter speed. I just didn't want to chance having an out of focus image. Noise is easier to fix. These guys were in the nest but were certainly not being still. They were squabbling for food and yanking on Mom's beak. We have such wonderful cameras and post processing products that we can now shoot those high ISO's with out much of a problem. I hold to the rule of getting the picture first and then worry about any noise latter. |

Very cool image David, in more ways that one. I love it. I understand Larry's comment about the feet but if not in a compotation go for what you like. All that white stuff and you did not get a blowout is commendable. The Lynx is really sharp. I may have liked it a little better if it wasn't in the middle so much. I think it's a wonderful image. I do have a question. There looks to be a piece of raw meat on top of the Post? I don't have a problem with doing that if that is in fact what it is but I would hide it in post processing. |

I wanted to be the first to post just what is actually going on with these birds but Isaac beat me to it. Darn. I'm going to agree too that this is a really busy image. It is sharp, good composition and there is a story but there is just a lot of stuff. |

Wonderful image Jason. I always like sunrise images, This one is gorgeous. Well done. Great leading lines and even the colors lead you to the sun rising. The amazing that I see is that the lines come for all directions leading you to the subject. I really like that dark point on the right middle of the photo that points you to the sunrise. There are a couple of things that could do to change the image but I don't think there would be much improvement if any. Great Work.

Really nice image Michael. My take away is I am not sure if the Hummingbird is the subject because it is overpowered by the beautiful white flowers. If you meant to show motion blur on the Hummingbird then you succeeded, You can see the action. The guys are correct, if you meant to stop the action you would need a lot faster shutter speed. |

Hello Steve. Rich Matheny from Group 67 here. I usually follow this group every month. I wanted to jump back to last months image of the White-winged Tern. Like you when I run into a rare bird the first thing I do is to make sure I have some images of this bird while he/she is here. I will do my best to get good in camera shots. After that if I have the opportunity I will work on getting some higher quality images. This Tern is a European vagrant and very rare for the states. You are one lucky birder my friend. Congratulations! |
