Thanks Michael for the comments. I had never heard the term Possumhaw bush before. I guess it's in the holly family of trees and bushes. I will watch it for the berries to turn abs see what decides to dine on them. |

Thanks Larry for the comments. The image may be a little dark. I did lighten it up as much as I thought I could without getting the caterpillar web to bright. It was very dark in the woods. I have just started using the Group Focus and think it will help on some of the things that I can't get close enough to. I agree the birds are just a tad soft. They are good enough for me but if entering into a high quality competition it would get bypassed quickly. Thanks

I am no expert at Macro photography although I have been giving it some study time. I am a fan of the elimination of distractions in a photo and with the black background you have really taken care of that issue. Now give it the crop that Larry did and you have a winner. With having that nice black background it really makes everything including that out of focus branch really standout and draws the viewers eye right to it.

Very good as always. What makes this image is of course the subject. It's a rarity and that makes and it a wall hanger in anyone's book. It's nice and sharp, the bokeh is real good but I will agree with Michael the chicks blend in a little to much with the nest for my taste. I think darkling the sticks a little would help the chicks stand out better and they are definitely part of this story. Larry Hope you don't mind but I made a couple of adjustment to the image. Darkened up the nest material and added a little light to the chicks. |

Good Close-up of the Grater Snake Jason. Your Macro lens looks like the right lens. The snakes head and eye are sharp. I agree with Larry I like the Shallow Depth of field but I would do something to try and Highlight the Snakes Head even more. Maybe use the brush tool and add some viberance, clarity or try the dehaze tool just a little. Not to much just to make the head and eyes pop a little more. I think it is a great photo but it would be fun playing with just toe see. |

Ah Bullwinkle himself. A really nice image of a young Bull Moose and I love seeing him in his natural environment. Where else could be a better location to find a moose than eating in a patch of Willows. I agree the crop helped make Bullwinkle stand out as he should. The out of focus willows at the top added nothing to the image. As a wildlife portrait the simplicity of the image really helps. You setting at f9 was spot on. The DOF is prefect. The entire moose is in focus, front to back. The only thing I would like to try would be to get some light on the left side of he bulls face if you could but that is a minor thing. I think its a great shot Todd. |

Great image Michael. I like what you have done with lighting up the faces of the cliff walls on both sides of the photo. I think this really helps the image come alive. The S curve of the river is wonderful and leads us through the image. There is a lot going on in this image with the river, the cliff faces, the vegetation and the sandbar in the river but you still have left the viewer wanting a little more. That's a good thing, I would want to grab a raft and see what was around that last turn in the river. And my pet peeve with landscape images, you have left me a place to be standing with a nice foreground Really nice landscape. |
