I think everything you had facing you this has turned out pretty good. The three things that were really against you and the other guys have mentioned are the sky, the angle and of course the Kayak. Add to that the Osprey is moving. This may be one of those times when the important thing is to get yourself an image of an Osprey if you don't live in the South where Larry and I do and see these guys all the time.

I really love this. I have never been to Africa but this is my expectation of what it should be when and if I ever get there. There is so much to like about this image. The animals the dust, the trail leading down to the river, I even like that ugly looking river, just seems right. I also understand the moment of excitement, I am ashamed to say how many times that has happened to me. Wonder image Madhu.

I really don't see a lot of difference in the crop. If I remember correctley my image was cropped at 4:3 ratio. I do like the slight bit of Vignette and I will consider that when I print the image. If you lean more to the realest side of photography then the Dehaze effect does have value from that perspective. If you lean more to the artistic/creative side of photography then it would be a take away for you. I accept both as being good photography. I seldom get the chance in wildlife photography to be that creative without using special plugin's so I think I will stay with the original. I really do appreciate the thought you put into my photo and the suggestions. That's what we are here for so thank you Madhu> |

Thanks Larry for the comments. This image definitely was not planed. I was over before I could think too much about planning. I felt good about having enough time to make a couple of camera adjustment. I may have grabbed my tripod if the legs had been extended but opted for the pipe gate instead. I do agree with you, most of time I like to see some detail on the animals. I love it on the birds, although some of them are not that easy to get much detail. |

Here you go again with those 2 mile hikes up a mountain. This is another beautiful image. How can you not like waterfalls in the Smoky's. I really like the green of the foliage combined with the green moss on the rocks. That seems to tie entire the scene together. The use of the 2 filters was a good move. If I would question anything it would be, is the image about the waterfalls or the stones leading up to the pool. It seems that the emphasis is place on the rocks which makes the waterfall secondary. Another well done image for sure. |

Jason I love this fine art type of image and I think it has a place in the world of nature photography. Maybe not everyone would jump on board with that statement. Some folks at purest and I understand that as well. I have done several images like this and like it. I must agree with Larry, It's a little soft and the right side of the back of the egret lacks detail. The lines are great and you have framed the bird well. You didn't mention any post processing. I wonder if some post work in Lightroom or Photoshop would have helped with the crispness of the image. As I said I do like this kind of image and with all the beautiful white birds we have there are plenty of opportunities. |

I am having trouble finding the subject Michael. I like the birds but they seem like they were just there. The color is OK, maybe over the top a little. I think what may be missing is some clouds or a fisherman on the beach, something needs to be in there to give the image some drama. Since I live close to the beach and see a lots of beautiful Sunrises I may be being a little critical. I think the effort you gave with the birds is starting in the right direction, it's just not enough for this image. I do understand what you were trying to accomplish and considering what you had to work with, it's not bad. The motion blur that Stephen gave the image gave it some drama. I like that.
