Thanks Mark for the comments on my image this month. Learning all the time. I did re edit my image an took out the ugly stick in front of the the Kites. That was pretty lame on my part leaving that thing in there. Thanks for catching it. |

Thanks Madhu. I tried your suggestion and I couldn't get it to work well. I did work on the image and posted the retouched copy under Larry's reply |

Thanks Larry
I tried to open up the eye area on the male a bit and cut back on the highlights on the birds. I also removed that ugly stick in front of the birds that Mark pointed out. I don't know why I did not notice that. I also looked at defusing or blurring the pine needles on the left that Madhusudhan talked about but that didn't work to well. Anyway thanks everyone for the help. |

Another one of the places on my wish list , I have many. A wonderful picture. This is another one of those with a lot of things to play around with. Agree with the guys about the sky, It needs a little more to fill out the scene. I really like the far ground. The colors, sharpness and texture of the mountains are superb. The foreground is good and gives me a place to be to look at the scene. I know if you read my post I say that a lot but I like to have a place to stand and survey the image as if I were there. The middle ground is nice but I thought is was just a little flat compared to the rest of the image. Not a lot just a little. I took the liberty to make some adjustments on that part of the image. I darkened some of the valleys just a wee bit and then added some texture to that whole area. I also darkened the large rock on the right bottom of the picture. |

I don't think I can add anything to the conversation that has not been said. Only maybe I wish I have been with you to witness this scene. You just can't beat a mom and her baby together. The 3 things I agree with the most is the removal of the tree trunk on the left, I really think that helped the image. I really like the texture that larry added to the animals. That adds as so much life to them, I find that amazing. The last I think I like the panorama as the best crop.
A really great image. |

Another great waterfall image for sure. You do such a good job with these kind of scenes, especially with the pool area below the falls. There is a lot of things going on in this image. I like the foreground a lot. It gives me as the viewer a place to stand and take in the scene. I am in agreement about the laurel. There is something that is off. I would have to play around with that some but I am thinking a little more color in the flowers (maybe-maybe not, but something). I know you opened up the dark areas some but I am thinking a little more would help. Not much, just a little on the lighter rock faces would do it. I will admit you lost me after the 1st uphill mile. I commend you for your effort to capture the shot you undoubtedly have pictured before hand. |

I like the image a lot. I am somewhat a realest myself but I too like to delve into the abstract or creative side of nature photography. Like Larry said it's you image and whatever you do to make it your image is great. The thing that makes this image work is that it is easy to see your intent and that you have done a excellent job. I like the colors, the reflection, The syementry of the motion. I think the picture has some drama and because of the blur action seems almost magical I can't find anything displeasing about the photo. Great work! |

Love sunrises and sunsets. I also hate it when the sky adds nothing to the image. That means the foreground and middleground have to do all the work. This is wonderful landscape but I agree with Marks cropping and the moving the sun to the right. I also took the liberty to make a couple of adjustment. When I first looked at the image I was drawn to the rocks in the foreground thinking it was part of a parking area. After viewing it a few times I think maybe it is not what I thought but I still found myself being drawn to it. So I cropped it a little more and added some contrast with the tone curve tool. |

WOW what a wonderful image. I am familiar with the Pawpaw tree and the fruit as I grew up in the mountains. If fact in my home state of West Virginia there is a a small town named Pawpaw. I love the image and I had forgotten about the flowers. The lines are good and the backlight is a plus as it really helps highlight the bloom and the butterfly. The removal of the one leaf does help the photo but it is not a big deal for me. I really do like this image. As a side Note. I have a biologist friend that just yesterday gave me a potted starter plant of the Pawpaw Tree. He is trying to get folks to help get them started here is SC because the tree is the host plant for Zebra Swallowtail Butterflies. Kind of spooky!
