Yes Wayne that is the one. I finally bought it and am liking it real well. I have several friends that use it and all have given it the thumbs up. Now I am trying to talk myself into buying the sharpening program as well. |

Thanks Jan for visiting our group and the nice comments. These guys are very small and fast and I count myself lucky to get everything in the right place and sharp. |

Thanks Madhusudan. I love trying to get good images of these little guys. I must admit I was of course using a tripod with a gimbal head for this shot. I love my D500 for wildlife photography and yes it will handle very high ISO's. |

Thanks Wayne. Glad you like the image. The backyard is a place so many people overlook for good photography, thinking that we have to go on long exotic trips for exciting wildlife shots. Some of my best and favorite images have come from my backyard. The really neat thing about backyard photography is that you can create your private wildlife studio, I love it. I have shot some with higher speeds but of course that requires higher ISO's a then you create more noise. It's a trade off but with some of the new Denoise programs I am starting to work with Higher ISO's |

Thanks so much Cheryl. I love shooting these little guys but it can be a challenge. I told Larry that I have just renewed my subscription to B&B and may submit a photo or even a shot story on the Hummingbirds. |

Thanks Todd. The high ISO is required to be able to shoot at 2000 of a second but of course creates some noise. I try not go any higher with the ISO than is necessary but still be able to get the important areas sharp. I have been using the new Adobe filter DeNoise AI and I like it real well but still am learning/ |

Thanks Larry for you comments. I have not submitted the image to B&B but I have just renewed my subscription and may do that.I do try and position my feeders where the background will be acceptable for photography. I keep trying to improve my backyard area to make it easier and more attractive for the birds and to get me closer to the birds. Hopefully I can cut down on most of the cropping at some point.

Thanks Michael for your nice comments. I will not tell you how many images went into the trash. I have 2 Hummingbird feeders set-up and try to catch the birds as they will stop and flutter a while to make their choice for dinner seating.

Stunning image Michael. I keep looking for something that I could add or take away to make the image better and there is none worth mentioning. I don't think I have ever seen so many triangles in one landscape image that fit together so well. Nothing is out of place. Maybe if your were there and could shoot at some different angles there may have been another shot but it would be hard pressed to be better than what you have. I just thought of something. When I am shooting landscapes I always try and leave a little terrafirma for my viewer to stand on so that they can be in the image,"at least mentaley". |

Nice image Todd. I am just stating to work on learning how to do macro photography so I am not even close to being able to offer much in the way of help on someone's picture. All my efforts are done with a long 200-500mm lens. If i continue this effort I will for sure buy a good micro lens such as Michael mentioned.I agree with much of what Michael said.
The background is really nice but could be darker. That would help to bring the detail of the bee more into focus. I may have used a smaller f-stop to decrease the depth of field some. Still a really nice image.

Wonderful image Wayne. Since I have never been there I like it that you included some of the environment surrounding the Hot Springs. I find the dead trees are telling me a little history of the place and that is nice. The mountains gives some sense of place. The scene is very dramatic and your porsessing helps show that. The original is somewhat flat with not to much color, so highlighting the dark and light areas helps put some depth into the image. I don't think I could comment on the colors to much because as I said I have never been there. There was not a lot of color variation in the original to start with so it looks like good work to me. |

Wow, wonderful image Larry. I almost posted an image of a waterfall I took last week. Maybe next month. The really nice thing about landscape photography is that you can do just what you have accomplished here so well. You have told the story of this beautiful place with the camera and didn't have to explain a thing. The mood is set and all the viewer has to do is stand, stare and let his/her brain go wherever the mood leads. Wonderful work as usual. I like the work with LR brushes to work on small areas of the image. I seem to get in a hurry and overlook those areas way to often. Thanks for the lesson.

Good move sir requesting the guide bring you back to this spot. I can see the possibility of many images in the frame. It seems to me that you are trying to tell the complete story surrounding the beautiful waterfalls by leaving so much of the water pool and rock in the foreground. I'm sure you could have picked bits and pieces of this scene that would have afforded you equally beautiful images. The ND filter certainly helped with some of the blown out highlights. I am wondering if you had used a 3 stop ND or even a Graduated ND filter if it would have allowed you to capture the same effect on the waterfall using a faster much shutter speed so that the pool of water would not have been blurred as much. That's a personal thing I would like to see more detail in the rocks under the water. I think it's a great image. I don't see too many waterfalls around with that nice and clean pool of water. I see you took out most of the white sky and that was a good thing. I may have taken out a little more. Good work Madhusudan. |

Cheryl, what a lovely image.Sure makes me want to be there on a morning just like the one pictured here. There are several things that draw me to this image. The first one is that as a viewer you have given me a place to be or to stand in your image by keeping the foreground on the right side. I don't always get it done but I do always try and give the viewer a place to be a part of the image.I always love reflections and I really like these showing through the mist. I also like that the image is anchored so well by the trees and the rising sun on the right. The enhancement of the sunlight on the right draws you from the left to the right through the image. I think you have done a great job with post work. I may have tried the define that whisper of clouds just a little to give the image a little more depth. There seems to be just a little noise in the sky but not a big deal. Again I want to go there, beautiful image. |
