Thanks Wayne for you comments. I always take the opportunity to photograph these guys when I get the chance. I have never had one pecking on my domicile but I have heard that others have had problems with the love starved birds using the side of their homes as love drums. |

Very nice rendition Larry of this scene. Most folks would not think of exposing on the forest, good choice. Without the detail in the forest I doubt you would have liked this image. The great thing about the smoky's is that you can get so many different images from the same spot by waiting on the light to change and of course being brave enough to be a little different with the lens choice. |

Wow what colors you have. I think maybe this guy stayed around for such a long time he was blinded by the brightness. Just kidding. I think it is wonderful. I am so glad you did not crop the image. I would have liked to have seen all the antenna of the katydid but that's not a big deal. The high ISO does not seem to have caused a problem with the image on my screen. I don't see any noise. Good job.

Anole's this time of the year are such fun with all the courtship going on. I think considering the complexity of shooting in the dark woods and unruly vegetation you have done well. The required high ISO really causes problems. If you want the shot you have to do what you need to do to get it. As you said more cropping would have been nice for this image but again you do what you have to do. |

Wonderful image. I really like the simplicity of this shot. I think if you are going to do animal portraits this is a good way to go. I don't know what the background is but it is certainly the right color for this image. I think it really complements the color of the Bush-chat. I keep looking for something I would change for improvement but I cant't find anything that I could do to make it a better image than it is. Composition is good, color is good, and it is really sharp. Wonderful work Madhusudhan. |

Thanks Michael for you comments. I took this shot a 8:30 in the morning and rather liked the color of the light it produced. As you say there were some strong shadows even at that early hour. I did apply some some dogging and reduced exposure to bring out some of the detail in the shadows the post and bird without making the image looked over worked. I will try some more on the inside of the Woodpecker. Thanks for your suggestions. |
