Thanks so much Wayne for you comments. I was able to go back on this past Monday to check on the nest and there are babies down in there but you can't see them yet. I watched mom and dad bring bugs into the nest about every 10 to 15 min. If I get the chance maybe next week I will stop by for a look. I attached a photo of mom and dad feeding action |

If you are a wildlife photographer you got to love photographing Butterflies. This is a beauty and well done. I am going to agree with the copping. Just a little more area this time. He could have used a little more room. I think any time you clip the tip off of something it can be distracting. Some times it can't be helped but if you are going to crop part of some "thing" make it look intentional. I love the coloring and the extra butterfly really adds to the image. You were able to get good detail and for me that is not easy on butterflies, they have the dusty stuff on the wings. I have just bought Denoise A1 but have not used it much yet. It is slow I have found out. |

Love long exposure shots for water falls. I think the one sec seems to be right. Nice effect for the water. I am wondering if he water was just a little muddy. That could be the reason for the brown cast in some parts if the falls. You chose a great angle for the shot, that's not always easy with out getting wet and/or finding yourself floating down stream.I may have played around with the cropping some. To me the center of the image is where action is. The foreground looses something for me as well as some of the left side of the image. Just a thought you may want to try. Good image, I would like to have been there to take a few shots. |

Another wonderful image Larry. I don't know if I would change any thing in the final image but me being me maybe I would have added a little more detail to the foreground just to see. You may have enough but I would have to look. I think I would have added a little exposure on the far bank below the tree line on the left. There seems to be a small amount of marsh. That would have given a little separation of the trees and water. The silhouetted trees are prefect. Love the color of the sky and water. Very good treatment on those areas. After having said all that I would probably ended up with something very close to your finished image. Now all I have to do is plan a trip down to the Everglades to see for myself.

Wayne I have never seen and Anhinga chick that new. That's a wonderful capture and I suppose it's mom thinks he is a looker. I know it's nature and you can't change that, but there is a lot going on in the photo. I run into this all time and there is not one thing that can be done if you want to capture that little guy. I may have tried cropping a little off the bottom and top and a lot off the right side to eliminate some of the environment surround this lady and her new baby. This is just my opinion but the bird's tail is clipped off anyway so if you cropped some more of the bird it would look intentional, which makes it OK. Over all it's a great image, I wish I had taken it.

Love the image Michael. I had a Hungarian friend that would spend hours photographing these guys. I don't ever remember him capturing such action. He always wanted to go with me when I was out photographing the birds because he knew we would be in good areas for Dragon and Damsel Fly's. You have really captured the drama of nature. While there was a lot going on in the background you have eliminated it as a distraction. Good job on that. The image is very sharp for being hand held. Really good work. |
