Really like what you have done here and agree in taking out the second poppy even if it then means you have an even number as hated by judges(!!).
I agree with Jerry and would leave out the Reindeer as I find their yellow antlers distracting. Like the subtle border and must give that a go!!! |

Hema, you set a slow shutter speed and as you press shutter you move lens upwards. Have to keep experimenting to get shutter speed right and how quick you move lens. Good fun!! |

Great shot of the fisherman and you have done well to actually get all the line to show up in the image as they are quite fine. Post processing has been done well and as you say it has made the image pop. The main subject it lovely and sharp and green in the background looking quite natural.
For me I wonder whether you may have cropped in a tad too much? I think I would like to see a bit more room in front of the line to give it more space to move into? I expect you were trying to avoid that log in bottom right corner but it could easily be cloned out. Well done and I hope you put the fish back unharmed!!! |

A lovely colourful image. I have some of the same flowers in my garden or some very similar and they are very useful to keep the weeds at bay! The main part you focussed on is lovely and sharp but I find the image rather busy. I played around with a crop and also a slight desaturation of the background to try and focus more on the main subject. See what you think? |

I like the way that you have gone right in and concentrated on the hands, pot and the flow of water. You get the feel of the symbolism of the motion. It is lovely and sharp on the main areas of interest.
I do find it a bit red and took the liberty to take a copy and desaturate it a tad in H&S and I think it looks better? |

A well captured seascape and a very good choice to make it monochrome as is helps create a great atmosphere.
Well timed and you have got the wave crashing on to the side of the building. I like the little cloud that seems to be curving over the top of the building looking almost like smoke from a chimney.
Only slight niggle is whether you could have removed the contrail from top of image but that is being picky.
Great image, well done. |

What a beautiful Dahlia, well spotted.Good choice to crop right in and then desaturate the BG to bring out the colour of the flower. It is lovely and sharp.Good image from an iPhone!! Won't be long before we do not have cameras to lug around!!
I wonder whether it would be better to crop in even further and get rid of almost all of the base? I would take it to just below the lowest petal leaving just enough to make a base? Also I would lighten just the middle a tad to make it really stand out. |

A beautiful rose in an interesting vase. Glad that you cropped the top off as this has brought the viewers attention more to the rose. I like the way you have placed the three lower leaves in a triangle which brings the flower to an "end". It is lovely and sharp throughout and the lighting is great.
The only niggle I have is whether the vase is a bit "clumpy" for the composition as I find the image rather bottom heavy?
Well done!! |
