81 Mar 21 Comment Lovely shot of the bird. Sharp and lovely natural colours. Your post processing is spot on and I wish I had your know how to do these things!!! (I have just started a PS advanced course so hopefully I will be a bit more savvy!!) I like the frame you have created which makes it look like a real finished picture.
Only thing I am not too sure of is ending the branch where you have? I wonder if it would look better going right to the edge?

81 Mar 21 Comment Good shot well seen!! I agree with your choice of B&W as there is a lot going on in the image and I would imagine colour would be very distracting.
I keep looking and I think I would prefer it to be cropped on the left where the mirror starts as I think that area doesn't really add much to the image. The two burnt out blobs are distracting there as well? Also I think I might lighten the lady a bit as her head is disappearing into the background. Also the bottom left area of the display could be lightened as well to help it stand out and balance a bit more with the light area where the cakes are?

81 Mar 21 Comment Great shot and nice that the bird is actually doing something.
Like the crop you have made which really brings the bird to the fore and the colours seem to be spot on. The background is very busy so good idea to blur it and perhaps try a bit more and desaturate a tad?
I find that the head/eye is not very sharp and I expect he was moving so perhaps a faster shutter speed would have been better? I know from my own experience that small birds are really hard to get a good sharp image of so well done!!!
