Have found a really good way to get a shadow!!!! Create a drop shadow on your subject then in the layers pallet where is says drop shadow, right click and select create layer. This then puts the shadow onto a separate layer and you can adjust how you like with the free transform tool!!! Works a treat!!
Have redone my image and looks lot better. |

Another great portrait from you!!! Very pretty model!! Good eye contact and catchlights. The lighting works really well.I like the pose and you have a nice complimentary background.
The only thing that I would change is to perhaps clone out her thumb on her left hand!! Once seen them my eye keeps going there and would be easy to get rid of.
Well done. |

Thanks, as usual you are right. These days before I submit I say to myself what will Randall pick up on!!! I agree with the cropping and will try your other suggestions, thanks. |

I do not like doing portraiture myself but do like still life etc and with the continued lockdown here in Wales doing quite a lot of that!! |

Great shot and I like the way the light is falling onto his face. There is just enough light to separate him from the back ground. Good idea to use the TV as a black background!!! Surprised that you had to use such a high ISO!! Think image would be unusable if I used that on my camera!!!
The only thing that I think could improve it is if your son was either not looking quite so high up or tilted his slightly head further back. I think it would look better if his whole eye could be seen whereas with this angle it is right in the corner and looks squashed? |

Noel, Could you just elaborate a bit of what you mean about cutting out a small figure from e.g. a potato? Not too sure what you mean and could be helpful!! |

Love it!!! Just type thing I like to do and have done in the past. Takes lot of organising!!! I wonder how many passerbys wondered what on earth you were up to!!!
I think it is a well balanced composition and all sharp where it is needed!! Not too sure about chap on left as can guess what he is up to!!!
Well done. |

Well spotted and acting quick to get the shot!! Looks a very cold morning!! I think the way you have cropped the image really works well and centres your eye right onto the important element. You have done well not to have the sun all blown out which can easily happen.
I wonder if you could have cloned out the top of the bush on the right hand side that is above the horizon as I find it a bit distracting? Also lighten the shadows a tad.
Great shot well done. |
