Love what you have done to this image. Makes a good shot into something really different and effective!! Really like the muted colour range as well. |

Amazing how much colour and detail can be achieved from a piece of wood!! Really like the treatment you have given the image and it makes a great abstract.
For some reason I was reminded of the masks that some tribal warriors wear when they are dancing!! |

Simple but clever idea. Well executed and I like the post processing you have done. Like the texture in the background, well done.

What a lovely well spotted shot!! Love the way the youngster is blending into the grass as nature intended. The colours in the grass are lovely. |

This made me smile!! You have captured the moment really well. Love the way the chap is angled to get his photo of the Cormorant (?). Well spotted and well taken!! |

I think this is a great shot and I like the family connection you have given them!! Lovely and sharp and loads of detail. I like the warmth of the background as this seems to make the fungi pop even more. Well done!! |

No, leave the chain where it is as on a quick look it seems as if attached to the plant!! Plant thief would have been a good title!! |

Great colours in the sky and well done for getting the star burst, not easy!! I also like the one star showing above the bird it seems as if he is talking to it!!!
Not too sure whether it is my eyes/monitor but there seems to be quite a lot of sensor dirt showing in the sky?
I think you intended for the bird to have a light rim round it from the sun but wonder whether it would be better completely as a black silhouette?

All looks a lot drier than where I am at the moment!!! Our Autumn (Fall) is quite late as well because the weather is still very mild though wet!!
I like the placing of the one bush that has got some colour in it and the general composition. Perhaps the horizon is a bit too central?
I have had a little play and slightly cropped it and moved the cloud!!! See what you think? |

Lovely portrait again. Great eye contact and really sharp as well. Good work closing the gaps in the trees in the background as it certainly helps a lot.
Only slight change I would have made is not to have cut her hair off at the base? Not too sure if you have cropped in or whether you took the image like it but if cropped then perhaps show a little more on the base? |

You did well to beable to get such a sharp image while in a car!! Well seen and caught. I like the negative space in front of her and there is just enough detail in the background to put her in a street environment.
Great shot and cannot find anything negative to say this month!!! |

Constructive and welcome comments from you as usual, thanks!!
I was actually trying to make the yellow centre the sharpist point and that is why the front petal is out of focus. I take your point though as could have had front petal and middle sharp and rest falling away as you suggest. Not an easy lens to get the hang of and not too many flowers around now winter is looming to practice on!!

This was taken indoors and the background is a piece of velvet.
I think to get a black BG outdoors you need the subject to be a distance from the BG and a fast shutter speed and wide open aperture so camera doesn't have time to catch the BG. I might be wrong though!!!
I think the 85 and 56 do the same thing but need to be closer with the 56. Kathleen Clemons is the one to watch for Lensbaby tutorials and advice. |

What a great shot especially with the bird having a fish in his beak. I know how flighty these birds can be and hardly ever get chance to take a photo as they are off as soon as they see you.
The whole image is tack sharp in the areas in needs to be. I like the reflection you have managed to get as well. Background is a bit busy but cannot be helped in this type image and it does show the environment the bird is in. Well done!! |

Great shot!! He looks so aloof!!! Nice he has his ears forward and not bothered by you taking his photo otherwise you could have been in for a smelly time!!!!
I agree with you that the back lighting is great and I like what you have done with the background. His eyes are lovely and sharp and there is just a little fall off of sharpness in his mouth but hardly noticeable.
I wonder if there could have been a bit more room at the top of the image but that is being picky!!
Well done!! |
