I would be very happy with myself if I had taken this shot!!! Never seem to beable to get everything so sharp!! Having read a book by Harold Davis I think I am using too small DOF and need to close down the aperture and as you have done take multiple exposures.
The only thing I do wonder is as the lighting is so great whether having all the leaf in shot may have been better? Just an idea.

Yet another creative idea Ian!! Where do you get them from?
I am still struggling to get the desired effects I want from Topaz but am persisting!! |

Brilliant image, well done. Lot of work has gone into it and well worth the effort!! I really must persist in finding out how Topaz works!! |

Is it me or does the bike in the original look more straight on than yours?
Love the BG. You say it is a painted BG? Do you mean actually painted or PS? If PS could you perhaps give some idea as to how you did it please? |

Thanks, Randy. I see what you mean about the background which I have "put in" and hopefully I can sort that. As usual your comments are very constructive and make me look again at my images with a different eye!! Learning a lot from you. |

Cannot really fault this image at all. The bird is sharp and I like the way he is looking over his shoulder at you. He is on the thirds and a lovely diagonal line with the blossom branch.
If I was really nit picking I would say to clone out the top left hand corner as that flower doesn't seem to be part of the main branch.
We have Goldfinches in the UK but they are completely different!
Great image well done! |

Great shot of a very difficult subject.
I think that because of the angle the birds feet are more sharp than it's head but only very slightly.
Perhaps up the exposure a tad to lighten the image?
Otherwise well done!! |

Well seen and well taken! I know they are not easy to get!! Plenty of detail and the slight out of focus of the right wings does not detract from the overall effect.
I do wonder whether the Dragonfly has not been a bit over sharpened?
Also the light coloured plant on the left and just below tends to take my eye away from the subject. Perhaps could be toned down a bit? |

A lovely sharp image, well done. Perhaps next time make sure all petals are in the shot or go in closer for a more detailed images of the flowers centre? |
