I think you have got most things spot on and personally I think if the background light had been turned on it would have spoilt the image!! The dark background makes him stand out but I might have preferred a plain one.

Everything is in focus and the background nicely diffused. Only thing I would think might improve it is if you could see either the chaps full face or a profile. Not too sure about him having his back to the camera!!

81 Jan 19 Comment I find this a bit too busy for me!! So much going on it is hard to focus on anything. I also find the solitary bird distracting!!
I have had a little go in LR with it to try and bump it up a little but not too sure whether any better or lot worse!!

I like that the colour of the leaves is almost the same as the colour of the ground foliage and it brings out the texture of the tree trunks.
Have you noticed that there is an "eye" looking straight at you halfway up the left hand tree??
