Sandy, first of all, a very nice image of Nature and its colors - its like a painting. Well spotted and framed. Couple of things from my end: 1) including a bit more of the winding road could have led to a higher leading line composition, 2) a slightly wider focal length could have shown more of the colors of the trees, which looks a tad bit abruptly cut on the left corner (yellow tree next to orange) - this way you could have gotten more of the colors at the top and perhaps some more leaves which would have taken care of Cheryl's comment of adding some leaves up there. |

Angela, this is mind blowing! I almost feel like asking you, 'Angela can you teach us how to do this :)?' - very creative, unique, colorful and perfect reflections in the drops. I am sure it took you a long time to shoot this? Do you have more images on this series? Would you post it for us? I would love to see more. Wow, once again! |

S is also for "Superb" - a superb image, great lighting, nice use of flash - I liked the way the child gave a twist or a flip in his posture and the candid and expressive and mischievous smile. Beautifully captured. |

Randall, what a brilliant image and what an august interiors of the theatre. I liked the subtle curving in the composition of the seats - a very unique angle. The DOF is amazing and so are the colors and the contrasts. Did you use a star burst filter? Wonderful image indeed! |

Brent, its a candid and like you said, shot-on-the-fly shot - very happy image. The joy of the child is evident. For portraits, composing using tight crop is not a bad idea at all. This is a very nice image. I am also wondering, how it would be to have her cycle entirely as well, in the picture? |

Yes, how much is too much or how much is just right, is the eternal question that we struggle with. Editing has become an integral aspect and I know photographers who almost convert the picture entirely into something else and I wonder, what was the point of doing a photograph if it does not represent reality (at least to a large extent)?
Its a discussion, that can never-end, is it not? |

Cheryl, thanks - yeah sometimes the shot comes out differently than you anticipated. The bokeh took my breath away as well :-) - appreciate your words. |

Wow, that made my day Stephen :-) - unusual use of my camera lens, it definitely was. In fact, I made a short series of images on Indian brickbats, mainly some simple chunk jewels we wear here in India - maybe I can share them over a period of time. Thank you Stephen.
btw, where do you post these monthly themes? Keen to know more. |

Janet, thank you for liking this creative attempt. After shooting it, I ended up liking it too :-)
I used a low aperture number and shot from the very same elevation (anglewise) where the jewel was - same level, hence this sort of an output. Sure, I will try shooting at a slightly higher f number and getting some more of the yellow and gold in the bk-ground. Thank you |

Thank You Randall ! What a beautiful comment you made about it being the fanciest filer :-) - made me laugh for a long time and each time I read it, brings a smile. Good one, thanks.
Yes, the camera controls were included on purpose, somehow felt it can add than subtract from the image. I am happy you noticed and liked it. But yes you are right, a little separation could have been nice. Thank you, I will try again. |

The joy of using a macro lens and shooting upclose is so satisfying, is it not? At the same time, it's challenging especially when it comes to sharp focus. Have you felt that? I recently got a 100mm macro and tried calibrating the lens. Inspite of it, getting utter sharp focus is a toughie. I love the colors and your attempt of getting the bee in the place it loves the most. Well tried Janet! |
