Wayne, The natural bullseye really draws me into this composition. I like what you have done with the color, the purple added to the duck adds more complimentary color to the primary color of the green water, the Goldfish being a split compliment and gives extra pop. I would be tempted to do a selective color adjustment to the beak just to see how it would play. A fun image, thank you. |

Mike, the butterfly is a Female Diana Fritillary, the Arkansas State Butterfly. This image has really drawn me into it, I think that I would have reacted just as you did to capture it. The color processing and the cropping done to compose the scene are very effective. All the colors have a compliment or split compliment and everything POPS. I see the halo on the yellow flowers but only if the image is sized up, I think this is an easy adjustment. |

Larry, your "about the image" is like listening to a "Ted Talk" for me. You place the audience in the scene and reveal what is going on in your mind regarding, why you are in the location, the intention of the image you hope to capture, your physical effort and patience. I appreciate how you share your approach and the cherry on top, bird migration.
The silhouettes of the trees reflected in the dark waters brings both drama and tension, this part of the image reminds me of what a sound wave for "Smoke the Water" might look like with my feet in a bucket of ice. You have sold me. I will try this, experiment with mounting my DSLR on my telescope with motorized tracking to see how it works out, perhaps eliminate the telescope and see if I can use my lens in its place. |
