Hi Bob:
I really like the whole Sony A7 range. The latest model adds multiple silent shutter shots which is useful when shooting insects and the crop factor is very helpful decreasing noise too. Now I can only complain about my lenses - for a while! |

Hi Bill:
I think I probably would have tried to clear most of the front of the picture to concentrate on the mushroom too. Your use of Life View perhaps illustrates how effective the electronic viewfinders are for many of us who have them. I think you've made the best of a difficult subject in a tricky spot. I too wonder if a 2.8 aperture setting might have made a positive difference to the focus. |

Hi Bill:
Our personal gardens, if we are fortunate to have one, certainly provide a variety of photo opportunities. I have no bird bath, just a wide spout from a water pump but is certainly attracts a variety of flyers. I have to agree that seeing more at the top of the picture might have been useful. Your settings have facilitated a view of flowing water, bubbles and soft colors that just call for the birds to participate. |

You've captured what I consider is a fragile quality of the rose - although it just may be the dew balancing on the tips of the petals. Is this, perhaps, one of those pictures that could correctly be centrally placed? Great color and focus. I'd love to have these in my garden. |

Beautiful colors Bob and the clarity of the hairs on the bee is impressive. You didn't indicate but I assume this was handheld - the 6000 series are so light and with the 90mm lens they feel well balanced too. I have one of the first models and love it. I have never tried a ring light but that's something to think about although I don't have any problem with your lighting. Well captured. |

Thanks for all your comments. Carol, the focusing rail is very helpful. The one challenge I sometimes have is that with a heavy camera at a high angle it shifts independently -the locking mechanism is perhaps not strong enough to hold it totally still. I just need to be willing to get down lower and decrease the angle. I was pleasantly surprised how long the fly stayed in place. |

Hi Carol:
The first two troughs appear to have their own individual pictures in wonderful colors. It's an attractive picture not needing any crop in my opinion. Textures of all the elements are clear - rough stones vs soft water - great contrast. One can almost hear the water. Very pleasing. |
