Hi Lauren, Water reflections are so fascinating because of the warped lines. I'm not sure about the orange 'fish' monogram. My eye keeps returning to it and neglects the rest of the image. The image is an interestingly complex abstract that keeps my eye and mind quite busy. Karl |

Hello Yan, This image is mostly horizontal and softly focused. That gives it a peaceful, tranquil feeling. I feel my blood pressure dropping just looking at it. The curving water on the beach goes just off the scene at left. Moving the camera a bit towards the left to include the entirety of that arc into the lake and mountains would make it more 'complete'. Perhaps a 10-15% gradient in the sky would help keep viewer's eyes in the heart of the image. Karl |

Hi Judith, We were fortunate to get some cold days resulting in interesting ice images. This sweet gum pod has a lot of space around it. My interpretation is to crop it, burn in the edges, and lighten the seed pod. I love the little periscope to the right of the pod. I think it adds to the story. The image still has the cold, icey feel with warm prickly more prominent. Karl |
