79 Nov 25 Comment Hi Peter, It's fun to play with various filters. In this case, the original already looks like it has lots of sharpening applied (by phone or camera preset?). That effect rubs against the softness of the pastel palette and curved petals. The composition is interesting with two areas of green and dark tone connected by a causeway. I may prefer the original. 79 Nov 25 Comment Hi Judith, I'm not enthralled with the tilted, hi-contrast version. Here's my interpretation with a Firmani horizontal flip and burned in, but not black, background. It has a 'preparing to ski downhill' feeling. The leaves have wonderful curved forms. We both seemed to want to emphasize that attribute. Simple masking done with a brush worked quickly and well with this image. Exacting masking technique is not often necessary. Karl Nov 14th
