Hi Lauren, You raise some interesting questions. To me the resulting image is a pattern. That pattern was generated by a program that arranges pixels according to preset 'rules'. While the resulting pattern is colorful and quite Southwest, it's not really telling me anything about humanity, nature, etc. It doesn't even prompt pareidolia where I could 'see' a familiar shape in a mass of random information. Is it 'art'? Sure. Is it photography? I don't think so. This app ranks with software like Apophysis that generates fractal images. It can be beautiful Art from Mathematics, but not photography of the world we inhabit. Karl |

Hi Freddie, I agree that abstracts are stimulating and fun. I see a reclining figure near the top in an image with icing flowing down. A nice thing about abstracts is that there is little right or wrong, just very interesting interpretations.

Hi Marianne, Fog is both beautiful and tough to process. The first correction I made was to straighten the vertical elements using Image/Transform/Skew in Photoshop Elements. Then I added a golden hue to the steeple and two column lights with Hue/Saturation and trimmed back their opacity to be more foggy-realistic. It was difficult to accurately mask layers in the low resolution images we use here. I hope you can see that I wanted to show the steeple rising as a golden shaft into the foggy heavens. Karl |

Hi Gerard, I like the contrast of golden color vs no-color. The simplicity of the image immediately brings one to the piggish face in profile. Yes, I could see this in a Daliesque composite. Well done. Karl |

Hi Peter, I agree with Gerard about the background which appears mottled except at the very top where it is solid back. The image reminds us of a Kodalith derivation giving an engineered look which goes well with this subject. Perhaps a little cleanup of non-bridge items before the derivation machinations might give a clearer idea of the complex structure of the bridge itself. Karl |

Hi Judith, The scene is nicely lit. The border adds some nostalgia but it might be better toned down. White in the border draws the eye from the subject whereas I think the border should just provide boundaries for the image. The extensive processing has caused strange shapes/artifacts when the image is magnified. It might be better to keep it as a projected image, not a print. The warm tone monochrome rendering is good.
