Lauren, I worked with the monochrome because I was lazy and didn't want to redo all the cloning and clean-up you had already done. Karl |

Wow! I didn't expect this much controversy even though I love to elicit discussion. I chose the breast image for the purpose of causing people to look inside themselves and examine their beliefs and hangups. It is an in-your-face image that is difficult to ignore. Remember Mapplethorpe? The group's comments enlighten me on the somewhat button down standards of our society and why many of my nudes can never be competition pictures.
I agree that an alternative might be to soften the edes of the light drawing to blend it into the scene.
The model was a free-spirited Hawaiian surfer girl holding a tropical plant. To her (and me), this is an image of beauty. Putting her warm image in the cold, leafless winter scene of my woods is a contrast. Is there warmth in Mother Nature in all seasons?
Check ancestry. In the earliest times we were all nudists in Africa. Don't be afraid of the beauty in the human form. Karl |

Hi Lauren, I love the cash register. My friends at Finley's Art Shoppe in Newark, DE, have one that they still use. No plug-in or batteries required! The detail is terrific. To make the register stand out better, I created a Gaussian blur layer and masked out the register itself. The register is still tack sharp and the background is a bit out of focus. Since it's an olde machine, I applied some antique color with the Colorize function in the Hue/Saturation tool. You did a fine job in correcting the distractions and reflections. I would prefer a little more 'breathing room' around the machine. Karl |

Hi Freddie, My first response was "Wow, this is a nifty creative piece." The piano music box on real piano keys works well particularly since the real keys are sharp and as expected, but the music box has a warped feeling for contrast. The triangular composition of the alien figures adds interest. While not a true Altered Reality image, it has the feel of being one. Nice work! Karl |

Hi Gerard, I'll be a little contrarian and say I prefer the vertical version, but I would crop off about 15% from the top of the image which places the cobra head higher in the image. Tones go from darker at the bottom to lighter at the top. I like the frowning face with devil horns looking left behind the seeds. It adds another dimension for me. Beautiful use of line and luminosity to direct the viewer's eyes. Karl |

Hi Peter, This is a beautiful sunset on a classic scene. Converting to split toning takes it from postcard to more timeless art although I would prefer a monochrome interpretation. The long exposure successfully softens the sky and water to contrast the sharpness of the buildings. I like the building detail which makes the image about the city, not the sky. Karl |

Hi Judith, The image certainly is a comment on the world today. When I zoomed in on the image, I didn't find the 3 people in the background to be menacing or relating to the security guard. I would have liked a little bit looser cropping to include all of the word "SECURITY". Converting to B&W clarifies the story. The phones lined up on the right reminded me of a jewelry store display which would coordinate with the inordinate prices of iPhones. I did find your reflection, particularly hair, eye sockets and phone in the middle of the image. My initial take was looking through a window into a jewelry store with a larger than life typical security presence. Karl |
