I thank everyone for the additional interpretations. I like them all. Happy Holidays from Chadds Ford (photo taken a few years ago when we got real snow), Karl |

Hi Lauren, I love frost. In our area it's a transient condition, so the photographer needs to get it when they can. This is an image that would work well on or in a holiday card. The lighting on your horizontal presentation is more realistic than on the 90 degree rotation to vertical. I would also wish that Santa would have a male Cardinal appear on the branch! Since Santa didn't bring the bird yet, here's my mock-up for a holiday card. Happy Holidays! Karl |

Hi Freddie, I would not expect an image where both subjects are walking out of the frame in opposite directions to be a cohesive work. The blur adds universality and brings the subjects into some sort of theme. The bright red and subdued black clothes enforce an idea of difference or "not my friend". Very expressive work. Karl |

Hi Lynne, This is a beautiful flower image. The focus near the front with blur towards the back gives a sense of depth and reality. The colors are perfect including the slightly warm highlights from the 8 AM light. The color would be different and less nuanced indoors. Nicely done! Karl |

Hi Gerard, The image does resemble New Yorker cartoon style. The disorganized mob stands apart from the single speaker, leader or opposer. It's a well-executed concept that combines color and monochrome to enhance the message while leaving room for ambiguity. Fine work from idea to finished art. Karl |

Hi Peter, The contrast in both your and Gerard's interpretation are leaning toward graphic illustration. The yellow eyes add to that interpretation. It's quite effective as an interpretive image filling the screen with jaw askew and eye contact. Nice work! Karl |

Hi Judith, Sometimes we need alternate things to occupy our mind at family gatherings. I agree with Gerard's interpretation. The pink 'reflection' adds mystery to the otherwise straightforward scene so it becomes more art than just a record. The flame is quite bright making it a very challenging exposure situation. Does this iPhone have an HDR mode? Have you tried putting a genie at low opacity in the smoke? Karl |
