Hi Lauren, We are graced here in Delaware with the Mt Cuba Center where trillium and lady slippers fill woodland areas each spring. I haven't tried focus stacking on lady slippers yet but certainly will after seeing the good effort you made. The present image needs a bit of touch-up. I slightly cropped the bottom and right edges. The saturation was way beyond reality. I tamed the saturation somewhat and slightly darkened the image. The white spots were cloned out along with a few bright spots. The result, I think, is more like beautiful native orchids in a woodland setting. Karl |

Hi Lynne, You have a wonderful houseplant. The photograph is beautifully composed and lit. I like the textured background. This sort of flower photography is in fashion with photographers either using textured fabric or matboard backgrounds or switching backgrounds in post processing. My only suggestion is a bit of cleanup. I cloned out the back petal on the center flower and the drop (?) on the stem at upper left. You have a beautifully rendered flower image. Karl |

Hi Judith, The tweaking to get shadow detail resulted in a lot of color noise. A purist might object to the noise, but this is an art group and the somewhat pointillistic effect of the noise enhances an art feeling. I'm still debating the piece of building. I could crop that out and just go with a simpler trees and flakes mood image. Maybe not for PSA competition, but for art venues. Karl |
