Hi Lauren, I wanted to enjoy the whole flamingo and its reflection but kept getting pulled to the partial bird at the top. My preference would be to crop/clone the top bird out. Cloning the tag is optional. You might just desaturate it. The result would be a pretty bird with wonderful texture variety in the water. That texture is what makes the image. Karl |

Hi Marie, After some thought, I agree with the harsher pure black & white version. This isn't a warm subject, but harsh reality of the internal chaos created by an event. While the image lacks reference to things military, it does evoke plenty of human emotion. A well executed concept. I like using the mannequin when real models aren't available.
You might also observe the part that alcohol plays in these events along with family upbringing and military culture. Karl |

Hi Sandra, A beautiful flower image with a wonderful 3-D quality. I'm still thinking about whether or not I like the lack of context like stem, leaves, and natural background. As a study object it is superb. Nice technique. Karl |

Hi Judith, In a word: BACKUP! I use both hard drives and solid state drives. Having images in at least two places saves the bacon.
This image is made by the sun rays and animated figure. Perhaps not your best effort since it suffers from excess flare and lacks dynamic range. Also the objects on the left don't contribute. Not quite lemonade but a notable effort at dealing with lemons. Karl |

Hi Peter, I remember that set up at Amherst. It's certainly a great application of gravity and inertia. Added saturation takes it away from literal photography into the realm of illustration art. The blue stripe at right could be made black to increase attention on the glasses. Did you do the set-up? Karl |
