Hi Judy, Star Wars comes to the music world in a land far away. This is an outstanding zoom. A lot of its impact comes from the wide color palette. You have mastered the technique well. You might consider a show of zooms/blurs using your new frames.

Hi Lauren, I photograph a lot of orchids and other plants for our exhibits at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. You have done very well at controlling sharpness & depth of field. Nice use of the window condensation although the part at top left is slightly distracting. The counterpoint of pink flowers and green leaves is outstanding color contrast. I wonder if your intent was to show the flowers as they really are or as a bit hyped as photo illustration. On my monitor the increased saturation takes it into the illustration realm. That's OK, but was it intended that way for more drama (or saleability?)?

Hi Val, As a Kiwi you have some remarkable landscape to photograph. This shoreline is a great color impression. The subtle colors are wonderful. This would be a great large print in a seaside home anywhere. The diagonal composition works well, implying motion. It's an abstract that is still clearly understandable for what the subject is. I'm envious.

Hi May, I see the image as a complex, ambiguous work. I ask "What does it mean?" and have no clear answer. Perhaps each of us must grapple with our own reading based on our own experiences. Misplaced left/right shoes. The blot in the container at right and in the far left shoe. Light shoes with dark dirt and dark shoes with light dirt. Where have they travelled? Twisted straps vs. no straps. Very puzzling and interesting. Not a competition image, but an exhibit image that deserves study by the reader. I like it. One suggestion would be a 20-30% dark gradient at the top to keep the eye down at the shoes. Karl Leck |

A PixelStick is a rod with 200 variable color LED lights controlled by a battery powered micro computer. The "Rainbow" in this image is one of the built-in continually varying color patterns that the stick can make. One type of 'light painting' is to project light onto an object. However, in this type of light painting, the light is used to draw a design in dark space. It's fun to play with this 4' long toy at night making incredible art patterns.
