Hi Susan, I agree with the overexposed syndrome. Your use of layers and modes is commendable. However, I am reminded by a comment by the late classic pictorial photographer, Edward Bafford. "It takes two people to make a great image in the darkroom. One person who knows the tools and craft and the other person with a bat to stop the craftsman from overdoing it." The dark spots in the ivy above the door interrupt the softer, overexposed aspect. As an alternative, I have attached a version using just gradient burning, levels lightening, and green/yellow saturation to bring more attention to the door.

Hi Marie, Peonies are wonderful photography subjects at any stage of their lives. Your interpretation has a wonderful soft (both color and luminosity) and frilly feeling. Just right and well done!

Hi Valerie, The weather and light in the Atacama is incredible and ever changing. My most successful image this year was taken in that region. I was distracted a bit by the color at the bottom. As an alternative, I offer a slightly cropped mono version that puts the mountain higher in the frame and adds contrast to the right side with a masked contrast/brightness layer. Atacama landscapes offer so many possibilities.

Hi Mary. The colors in the image are good. They add to the sense of perhaps a moonlit night. I agree that burning in a shadow for the figure might help. Consider removing the wires and pole from the background and some gradient burn-in on the right. I really liked the big ominous tree and the somewhat tentative pose of the figure. Dare I go down the forbidden path?

Hi Judith, At first I had difficulty relating to this image. On reflection it harkens back to the beginning of photography with the warm monochromatic tones and extreme softness. A tinkerer with light sensitive material would be proud to capture this 'sun painting.'

Thank you for the observations. I debated about the steps and decided that since this is a fine art forum and not a PSA competition group, I would leave the stairway to ..... ambiguous. The viewer can interpret it their own way. The man adds life and scale to the quiet of early morning.
