Mark, Thank you for the comment. Perhaps I was too subtle in interpretation. I didn't want the image to be too blatant of two nudes in filmy material.
A print has been in an art gallery show with other figure photographs.

Hi, Valerie. This is a very nice black & white interpretation. Removing the busy background and vignetting the tree helped. The thought process from scene to final image is well done.
The digital frame means the black core mat doesn't need to be cut for the print when framing for the gallery.
After looking at the image awhile, I wondered about rotating it 90 degrees counterclockwise to become a sea creature or soaring tree a la Jerry Uelsmann. I see two black eyes and those long branch tentacles. It could be a wonderful part of a composite image.

Hi, Mary. The softness of the color version is pleasing, but the background doesn't seem necessary. Back in the pictorial photography era of the first half of the 20th century, it was fashionable to put sheer fabric or texture screens made by photographing textural subjects with large sheets of graphic art film, over the paper when making a print. The result added a texture, lower contrast and softness to the print. A similar result is obtained with sheer fabric when making the image. I suggest a hybrid of the two versions where the background is removed but the warm tone softness remains. I confess to being a bit prejudiced toward soft images.

Hi, Judith. I immediately got the bullet hole idea since we see so much gun stuff on TV. Our friends in other countries must think it's the burning wild west here (and it is!). I'm a fan of Harold Edgerton's high speed flash bullet images. What I see here is a smoke puff on the right and a shock wave on the left as artifacts of the projectile passing through. This is a nice conceptual piece based on the very real and dangerous life in our community.
